Gravity liquid fillers, sometimes known as pressure gravity fillers, are designed to fill containers using pressure exerted on the liquid either by gravity or by pump displacement. The nozzles of these liquid filling valves are inserted into the container's neck until a centering bell makes contact with the rim, thereby forcing the nozzle to open and fill the container to a pre-determined level. Upon filling, the valve is raised, disconnecting the centering bell from the neck of the container and thereby preventing further product from being dispensed. Materials used are 303SS, 316SS, 17-4SS and titanium.
Other styles of liquid filling valves Sigma has manufactured include: BC style valves, Federal bowl filler valves and H&K counter pressure filler valves.
