Production Supervisor


Sigma Machine is looking for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor. This position reports directly to the Plant Production Manager. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing Production activities in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective manner. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Monitors daily production and quality performance records
  • Directs daily operations of the production team, schedules, and process for maximum efficiency
  • Advises management of potential equipment or facilities concerns and or failures which may directly affect quality, productivity, or safety.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate daily production reports, including shift transfer details
  • Works with production manager and maintenance to coordinate equipment repairs around production schedules
  • Coordinates and schedules manpower to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly requirements are met
  • Identifies employee training needs to ensure all employees are capable of successfully performing the tasks of their job
  • Identifies inefficiencies and drives responsive and corrective actions where necessary
  • Develops and implements strategies in coordination with Plant Production Manager
  • Leads by example
  • Train, coach and develop team members
  • Ensure all team members follow all company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Works to provide physically and emotionally safe working environment promoting mutual trust and respect.
  • Facilitate change and drive continuous improvement from experiments to systematic, sustainable processes.
  • Maintains records and reporting of hours, efficiency, utilization, and recovery rates.
  • Sets expectations for staff and monitors activities
  • Provides regular performance feedback
  • Coordinates and monitors flow of production orders
  • Must be flexible with Shift/Overtime
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction (in English), short correspondence and work orders.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with co-workers, including management.
  • Basic Math: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions including standardized work instructions.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work at a fast pace, keep a positive attitude and manage stressful situations with professionalism
  • Strong computer skills
  • Manufacturing experience and must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • Formal leadership training, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams, with all levels of the workforce.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate on all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred/must have GED or HS Diploma/equivalent work experience
  • MS Office experience, including excel and outlook.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing Metrics: OEE/FTQ/5S
