Specialty Machinist - 2nd Shift

Description: 

This is a technical position responsible for the programming and running of multi axis Milltronics, Hurco, Handtman and HAAS CNC mills. Must understand concepts and be able to troubleshoot programs, tooling and machine maintenance, ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet our exacting standards.

Responsibilities: 

CNC and manual machining/set-up experience to include:
• Programing CNC mills at controller
• Performing tool changes, setting tool and work offsets
• Determining tooling requirements at set-up
• Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
• Loading the correct program to the machine from the main drive
• Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths, feed rates, and to position tools in relation to work-pieces
• Select and properly load the correct fixtures for the job (proper tools, holders, clearances as needed)
• Set proper holding pressure on vises and collets
• Perform in-process inspection of parts to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools or assemblies
• Experience with AutoCAD software, GD&T, G-Code and Conversational programming
• Knowledge of metal properties

Experience / Skills:
• Five + years of Operating CNC Machines
• Two + years of Setting Up and Operating 3, 4, and 5 Axis Machines
• High School or Equivalent Required
• Associates Degree or Certification from a community college or vocational school in a Machine Technology program Preferred
